How to use scheduled rules to add or remove items from a channel

Note: Scheduled Rules is a feature that can only be used with the Feed API

To use the scheduled rules options, you will need to have a master data attribute of  type "date" which can only be achieved via external API.

If you do have a master data attribute of type date, the attribute will be selectable in the drop-downs when those options are enabled.

Those date attributes will enable you to do the following:

Add products on a schedule:
Nightly, we will check for any product which meets the date requirement - then check to see if it meets any of the auto categorization/channel addition rules and apply them.

Remove products on a schedule:
Nightly, we will check to see for any product that meets the date requirement and remove them from the channel.
Note - Items can only be removed from the channel if they are in the following states:

  • Rejected

  • In Progress

  • Ready

(Any items that has been accepted by the channel (Submitted or Accepted states) can not be removed from the channel.)
