The Product Data Exchange(PDX) solution for Vendors that require integration with their upstream master data systems or sources have the option of using an external API to import products instead of using Excel file imports.
Similar to the Excel import process, Vendors using this method would categorize their products, apply mappings, transformations, and ultimately submit their products to a retailer’s channel using the PDXapplication.
This allows the Vendor to automate new product imports and updates to existing products based on triggersin their master data system.
There are two relevant API calls that Vendors should use, Import Products, and Get Current Status of the Import Job.
Additional calls are provided for reference, in case there is a use case the vendor determines valid. However, the intention is for the vendor to use the PDX interface for these actions.
